Rama Chandra Reddy Permaculturist & Sustainability Guide
Mr. Rama Chandra hails from an agriculture family. His is a story of passion and realization. His education in engineering is a far cry from the life he leads on a farm today. He worked for 10 years in public sector, 5 years in the State Government and 10 years as a contractor. During this time he saw first hand how unethical practices such as bribery lead to "pollution of society". He then decided that making a living ethically is more important than profits derived otherwise. In his research he found that Permaculture (hybrid of two words - Permanent Agriculture) is a practice with ethics/principles at its core. He was immediately inspired by them, as they help him craft his own life ethically, to produce food ethically and protect natural resources in the process - a winning combination. His commitment to these principles has won him recognition from Medchal-Malkajgiri District as Best Farmer. He did his permaculture course at Aranya Permaculture Farm in Zaheerabad and Permaculture Teacher Training course with Jude Hobbs. He now practices ethical farming using these principles at his farm near Uppal and teaches and guides students at schools and anyone else interested. |
